I waited 30 minutes for my fish and chips, hoping they were cooked fresh and worth the wait. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed to see a small portion - half a fish, two small pieces of lettuce, and a cherry tomato cut in half. The fish was overcooked and lacked flavor. I would suggest avoiding this place altogether. Even school meals are better than what I experienced here. I recommend going to a fish and chip shop instead, where you will pay less and enjoy a much better meal. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this place a 0.
Stopped for lunch at The Town House in Ayr today. Had jacket potato with chillies. Delicious. Great service, very friendly. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.
My elderly aunt went to a restaurant with a friend for lunch and some time out. She is 96 years old and rarely leaves the house, especially due to the coronavirus pandemic. She has hearing difficulties and relies on hearing aids. Unfortunately, upon arrival, she was rudely stared at by the waiting staff, likely because her hearing aids sometimes whistle. As she sat at her table, she continued to be stared at by other customers and was even approached by a waitress who asked her to turn her hearing aids off because it was bothering others. This experience left her almost in tears. This behavior is completely unacceptable and disrespectful, especially from the waitress who asked her to disable her only means of hearing. Sadly, none of us will be returning to this restaurant, despite my aunt having enjoyed it before.
Wow, it's been a few years since I've been here, but the newly decorated restaurant is a total transformation. It was great to see homemade chips on the menu and the mince dish I had was delicious. The service was very friendly as well. I will definitely be coming back.
