I have eaten in many services restaurants many of which are generic and overpriced and they serve awful food. I was intrigued by this restaurant and I was also hungry and so I decided to give it a go. It turned out to be probably the best meal I’ve had in a services. The cuisine is Italian and they cook it in front of you. I was not expecting that. I was expecting a slightly plastic, microwaved pasta dish which would be hot but probably forgettable. What I got was a freshly cooked meal, tasty and good value and portion size. It’s not the greatest Italian food you will ever eat but as services go and of you’re hungry on a journey this is a really good option.
The place is NEVER open!!! I’ve been at all different times when it says it is open but never is..!! Do not visit!!!
Decided to stop here for Lunch and we ordered the Broccoli Soup, Deluxe Pizza, and Pesto Pasta. At a cost of £24.37 The food arrived 15 minutes later, and the Soup was swimming in Oil ! The Pesto Pasta was hard and oily and tasteless ! There is Al dente, and there is ‘ Raw’ and I told the Chef his Pasta was not cooked and he laughed, saying his speciality was Pasta !! Being Italian myself, I obviously didn’t know what I was talking about ??! I told him it was inedible, and he insisted that is was great ! The Pizza was tasteless, according to my daughter, and she ended up leaving half of it there. This was a First for her because I have never seen her leave Pizza before ! All in all it was a very expensive pile of Disgusting Food !! We will never be going there again ! Someone needs to teach the Chef how to cook Pasta the correct way, and not smother everything in Oil !! The Broccoli Soup should be renamed “Oil and Broccoli Soup “ A waste of Money for sure !
Popped into for a pizza for the kids. The place was empty which should have been a warning given how busy this area is with every other outlet virtually full. The gentleman serving was polite and apologised as he was short staffed. I asked several questions regarding menu options as there was a 'kids menu ' however he seemed to know very little about it so to save time I just ordered a Pepperoni pizza.. The Pizza took about 25 minutes to prepare and was absolutely average. Given that there is a Dominos less than 2 miles away which would have been half the price I cannot see how this business will survive as it has nothing going for it, no value, no quality, no service. I observed the food preparation as another guest arrived jus after we did. everything appears to be pre prepared and heated up in a microwave not exactly the fresh culinary experience that their franchised 'web site ' promotes. I would avoid, and much as I hate to recommend a 'chain ' visit Dominos instead.
We stopped off travelling south and ordered from Broccoli, wow fresh amazing food, the pasta was one of the best take aways I think I’ve ever eaten! Highly recommend, visit and watch the chef good, he takes pride in his work and keeps the kitchen spotless, well worth a detour from A1. Thank you
