Contribuisci feedbackI tried Kirin for the first time last night and was impressed. The restaurant was bustling with customers either dining in or placing takeout orders, but the service was friendly and efficient. The kitchen was clean and the food was prepared promptly. We ordered black bean chicken x2, pepper squid, noodles with bean sprouts and onion, egg fried rice, and crispy seaweed. The seaweed was a bit too sweet for our taste, but the rest of the food was excellent. As someone who has lived in Singapore and Hong Kong, I have had my fair share of Chinese food and can confidently say that the dishes at Kirin were delicious. I will definitely be returning, and it was convenient to be able to pay by card with no issues.
This is the worst takeout I have ever had. Do they even know how to cook? I would be better off eating instant noodles instead.
We ordered takeout from this restaurant for the first time today and unfortunately, we will not be coming back. The crispy duck was extremely dry, with hardly any meat and mostly just crispy skin. The prawn curry was slimy and had an odd scent, as if the prawns had been sitting out for too long. The crispy chili beef was decent, as were the spring rolls. However, for £38, we were overall very disappointed with the quality of the food. When we called to provide feedback, the lady's response was less than stellar, essentially telling us not to return if we didn't like the food. Needless to say, we will not be returning after this experience.
I wanted a quick dinner so popped in and ordered grilled pork dumplings and stir fried pak Choi. Stunned to find they only accept cash, there should be a sign on the door clearly stating this. When I opened the packets, the dumplings were clearly BOILED not grilled, and the „pak Choi“ was not the dark green one that we know from the supermarket but white Chinese cabbage (hakusai) or just English white cabbage. I took it back to ask if they had given me the wrong order and she said the word pak Choi is the Chinese word for that white one.!!!! I took it, but won’t be going there again as I can’t be sure that what is advertised is what I will get. Menu looks good, but it’s not what you think!!
Had chicken curry and fried rice here, the fried rice was not fried. It was most definitely boiled and the chicken in the curry was slimy like it had been coated in something and it was still pink in places. Don’t know what part of the chicken was use but there was no chunks of meat, they were all flat. Needles to say but there was upset stomachs all round the following day. I would never go back there which is a shame as it’s quite close to us. It was not cheap either, it cost a small fortune and I wished I had returned the food but after a long day at work I couldn’t be bothered taking it back so it all went in the bin. I honestly don’t think the owner would have bothered if I had returned it as he’s the only Chinese in the village and people just seem to put up with ****!
