I have email, but they haven't answered. not complain than...£35 but this lack of consistency is why people stay in chain hotels!
A convenient spot for a few quick beers before the meal. well-maintained ghost in a clean environment with a friendly reception. all dressed!
We were one night in the family room. very well furnished accommodation in the courtyard of the pub with two connecting rooms and a private bathroom. the accommodation was ideal for us with two small children. the owners gave us a very warm welcome...and we really enjoyed our stay. we had an excellent meal in the pub, which was again ideal for our family. the pub really has a wonderful and friendly atmosphere. I was also very impressed with the breakfast that was delicious. the perfect location for duxford air museum.
We were here for the night after the work in cambridge, and an intended visit to iwm duxford, for which the pub is perfectly located. After reading some of the previous (pre-new management) reviews, we were a little concerned. what I can say is that they should not worry! this place is warm, welcoming, clean and very well divided, especially for families of 4. the pub has definitiw an old world feeling that is now rare, and the fact that no food is served when we stayed is no problem, as there are many other possibilities close. the room was fresh, clean and very neat. parking is a bit narrow but manageable, and while the pub-noise is there, it adds to the character. I can only do the new management for the efforts they have made to congratulate the place. would definitely recommend and will also consider another stay next time in the opposite!
Visiting Imperial War Museum and stayed over one Saturday night. No evening meals served, but pub is situated on the main High Street and plenty of restaurants/takeaways on the doorstep along the High Street. Stayed in the converted stable block which was lovely, clean, tidy...and good sized bathroom with decent sized shower, etc, which appeared newly installed. Plenty of hot water. Two small cozy lounges in the pub itself (the size of small living rooms) and two beer garden areas at the back, one covered. Quite a narrow entrance to the car park between the stable block and the pub (it is an old inn but adequate parking at the back. Plenty of towels, tea, coffee and biscuits provided along with complimentary toiletries. Landlady was very welcoming and helpful. Had a great night's sleep despite being opposite the pub door and beer garden. Really enjoyed it and would stay again if down that way.
