The meat was greasy from the flat top grill it was cooked on also way over cooked gyro meat is meant to be tender flavorfull this meat was crispy with no taste, I took one bite experienced the overpowering taste of the choice of onion they use put it down walked out $9.79 later how are they in the Greek sandwhich business ????
I've eaten Greek food everywhere I go and this was the worst by far. Everything was overcooked and tasteless. Charged $5 for a side of greek potatoes and had no flavor at all. Gyro meat was burned and dry, the rest was mush!
I ordered a Teriyaki Sesame Chicken Sandwich, when I took my first bite and the flavors exploded in my mouth and I knew that this would not be my last visit. My partner had the Gyro and exclaimed that it was the best he ever had. Finally we have found our spot in the Daytona area! Highly recommended!
If you are looking for authentic Greek food in a casual atmosphere, you must try Dimitri's. Their homemade spinach pies and mouth watering gyros are fantastic. I have also tried their homemade veggie cake, chicken soup, and Greek salad all of which are absolutely delicious. This has become my favorite restaurant in Daytona Beach. Oh, and don't let the drive thru window fool you, this is not your typical fast food joint. The owner/chef makes everything homemade and sandwiches are all made to order. The counter service is quick and friendly. For a no frills fabulous dining experience, eat at Dimitri's.
I've eaten here several times and my favorite is the Chicken Basil Pesto and the close second is the Italian Combo. I have loved everything that I have tried. The sandwiches are grilled and served on a ciabatta roll and are huge and comes with a choice of 3 sides. The menu selection is quite large and the food that I have tried has always been out of this world! Great Gyro's too!
