We even bought some of the owner's canned sauces to take home with us. It's a one-of-a-kind Thai experience that is truly hard to surpass!
Long live Songkran Restaurant! To quote Anton Ego: “In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We take few risks yet hold a position over those who present their work and themselves for our judgment. We often find enjoyment in negative critiques, both in writing and reading them. However, the harsh reality we critics must confront is that, in the grander scheme, even the most average creations may hold more significance than our criticisms label them with.” Thank goodness for the dedicated individuals who devote their lives to the culinary arts and to improving the lives of others, irrespective of what critics might say.
Songkran is the only Thai restaurant in the area, which likely contributes to its ongoing presence. However, the Pad Thai here was surprisingly bland, even less flavorful than a boxed kit from Walmart. I don’t plan on returning.
The current listing for Songkran 's sunday hours are incorrect. They are open for dinner on Sunday from 5pm 9pm. Sundays are particularly my favorite day to visit. After a hectic week, I love to spend a little 'me ' time here and slip into a spicy dish of 'Plah gung ' grilled Thai shrimp salad and a nice cold Singha... My idea of heaven on earth. The owners who also cook are two of my favorite restaurantuers in the area. Their passion is evident in their food.
Another restaurant to add to my favorites list. Great service, awesome specials, very well priced, huge menu too. Don't forget to ask for them to spice up your food to your taste. The option is located at the bottom of the menu.
