Shockingly rude misogynistic man tried to patronisingly man-splain that the normal protocol for entering a pub was to get your drink first before sitting down, otherwise we 'd be taking up a paying customer 's seat (despite there being many empty seats) never will go there again!!
Proper pub on the bar side, with friendly locals having a drink. Always made to feel very welcome. Food mainly served in the lounge (though you can eat both side) and is excellent. Have had several very good meals there and have been back for the excellent Sunday Lunch.
Poor quality food service, curry was extremely bland and omlette was a pancake with minimal filling, dressed salad was handful of water cress without the dressing. Meals dropped on our table by waitress who couldn'tgetvquick enough, took 10 minutes to hunt down some vinger. My advice is to just drive by to another pub you wont regret giving this place a miss!
Good night spent at this Friendly pub on New Years eve 2018. No charge to get in and an excellent free buffet put on by the ever smiling landlord Steve.
Having booked a table for six, well in advance weeks in advance, we were all very disappointed to be greeted with the news that there was no steak or prawn availability on the menu. This, on a Friday night, in a village, where there is an excellent butcher within walking distance. Before we had sat down, my husand's night was over, as he was going for the steak, which I have to say is pretty amazing. So, on we go through the evening, when suddenly the bill is presented to our table, at 9.40pm. Six bemused heads all looked at each other, before realising that none of us had requested the bill, and three of us were wanting coffee. I like this pub, a lot, and I want to see it suceed. However, when you have gone to the effort of booking a table, at this time of year, and are looking forward to a great evening out, it has to be said that this was a great disappointment for us all.
