It turned out to be a pleasant surprise as we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The café has a quirky charm, but the staff, including the owner/cook, were friendly and the food was delicious. My falafel with Turkish bread was tasty, while my wife raved about her chorizo tacos, saying they were the best she had ever had. However, the highlight for us were the old-fashioned milkshakes that were thick, creamy, and bursting with vanilla flavor. While Alchemy may not be the trendiest café in the area, it is definitely worth a visit for a refreshing treat if you find yourself near Grafton.
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and was very pleased to find that the traffic over the bridge was easy. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and I loved the mix of furniture and metal work. I will definitely be back to this gem in South Grafton.
We discovered Cafe Alchemy on TripAdvisor while staying at the Heritage River Motor Inn and needing somewhere to grab breakfast before meeting the NSW Artist Blacksmiths. The coffee and food were excellent, the decor was intriguing, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
We enjoyed an breakfast with creamy touch on Turkish toast on an outside table. it was a great start to a road trip and we found the service friendly and efficient. the quirky interieur was funny and the historic building was a bit rough... at the edges that were added to the charm. we would stop there when we go through grafton.
Hidden behind bamboo blinds this atmospheric café gives the impression it is furnished with the owners purchases from past travels in Indonesia and the Middle East. The ceiling is draped like a Bedouin tent and some of the tables are solid wood. A comfy couch...backed by a dozen cushions sits to one side. It was an interesting venue for a light lunch. My latte was average lacking real richness and flavor. Alchemy markets itself as specializing in Mediterranean styled and organic food.
