We had lunch on a Saturday lunchtime I’m pleased we booked in advance as the place was very busy in part because of a screening of a rugby match) we both had a starter and main course the service was slow but quite good considering how busy the place was the food was okay More pub food we expected better for the price it certainly wasn’t gastro quality

We were lucky to get a table at short notice for Sunday lunch following a recommendation from a friend. The service was excellent as was our meal which was top quality throughout. We will definitely return

I love food, I love drink and I love traditional country pubs, this place has it all, log fires, great beers, incredible food and amazing service to boot. Stumbled across The Bertie whilst looking for a meet up place half way between Cambridge and Derby and what a find, oldest of our group 79 youngest 6 all catered for to perfection, I applaud you all

This is a lovely pub with great ambiance, a good selection of drinks and delicious food. Sadly on the day we visited the waiting time was just unacceptable (we waited around an hour and a half for starters). Also when the main courses eventually arrived the food, although good, wasn't hot enough. So disappointing as I've had really good experiences in the past. I will return, but maybe not in December. I suspect they had taken on too many bookings. What a shame...

We had a lovely time , had passed this place many times , and we were not disappointed, we were shown t9 out table , than we were offered another table , but we were happy !, the drinks were brought to out table by a friendly lad , our order was taken in due course, by a very knowledgeable lady , who explained the menu, as we had questions ! Our order was brought out , and we were not disappointed, i had the steak ale pie , it was beautifully presented , and was special , we all had various meals , and were very impressed, down to the young waitress , she was lovely , we had a great time , and will certainly be back !
