The escape to the pub deal is amazing value, food always excellent, staff lovely friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast with tonnes of choice and super dog friendly. And the rooms are very comfortable. It’s basically the perfect pub !
What a fabulous night we had here for our “ first slow dance anniversary “ I know , any excuse to eat drink and be merry! We had a lovely room in the old stables , a fabulous meal at night and such a filling breakfast the next morning for an absolute bargain price u The staff were very friendly and welcoming and looked after us so well We will return
Cannot rate this beautiful old Pub/Restaurant high enough. This was our 2nd visit on the Overnight stay with dinner breakfast £99 deal. This is such amazing value. We had the Herdwick Lodge this time the Lincoln in March. The outside suites are done up to a really high standard. Comfy king size beds ,lovely furniture such gorgeous white fluffy towels an up to date bathroom, making our stay a really superb experience The staff are all lovely, welcoming friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The ambience of the pub itself is top class. We arrived mid afternoon had an excellent glass of wine in the pretty bar, after our drive from Nottingham . When we were ready to move into our room, a jug of fresh milk was offered so we could have tea coffee while we were getting settled in. Dinner was amazing they have the most superb chef. We enjoyed every morsel. The presentation of the food is second to none. A great bottle of wine to accompany the meal a Liqueur coffee to finish An excellent night's sleep in the comfy king size bed we were ready for breakfast this morning. Again breakfast was delicious. All local farm produce, all presented beautifully. So sad to pay the bill be on our way leave this lovely establishment in its beautiful setting. Very very happy with our stay driving home this morning saying to each other, how much we have enjoyed our visit it won't be long before we are back again. Thank you so much all you fabulous staff at the Woodhouse Arms.
We stayed overnight on the 9th of September on our way home following a trip to the Lake District. The quality of the food and service in the restaurant were exceptional and worthy of more praise than can be expressed in a short review like this. The room we had was also ideal for an overnight stay, with high quality toiletries, a warm bed and excellent wi-fi. Not something that can be said for some other more expensive establishments. The breakfast was really good and so large we had to leave some. But it’s the owner (Amanda? and her staff who deserve the most credit, the warm welcome and attention to detail makes us wish it were closer to where we live for more frequent visits. If Ritz-Carlton decide to do gastro pubs with accommodation, they should copy The Woodhouse Arms and let Amanda operate them. Incredible value for money.
We were a party of 8 including two children under 4. The staff could not have been more accommodating- including the very good natured lady who laughed off our two year old putting blue crayon art on her skirt! We wanted the world to swallow us up but she was lovely about it! All of the food was delicious and amazing. The kids meals were huge and came out alongside the starters so that they were not waiting which was a great touch. The food is very reasonably priced considering the quality! We will definitely return again and would recommend to anyone else for a lovely celebration meal.
