Beautiful house, interesting histories (not too much to read! , lovely staff.

An inspiring example of the arts and crafts movement. The main features of the house are well preserved and beautiful examples of late Victorian architecture. There are nods to Archibald Knox, Ruskin and Mackintosh but in itself has its own unique design philosophy. The architectural design is perfectly complemented by carefully chosen furniture from the same period. On display throughout are example of local crafts and materials. We were fortunate to join a tour of the house which added to the history and context of the house. A perfect place to visit.

Wonderful house; the white room is outstanding. Interesting introductory talk. Nice cafe. Good gift shop but too expensive.
