We enjoyed homemade soups, crusty bread, sandwich options including a vegan one, and desserts. The chef even made me two of my preferred soup. Everything was delicious, the sandwiches were freshly made with nice bread, and there were also hot snacks like samosas and sausage rolls. The service was attentive and well-organized, even more so than we were as guests. Greg, Reece, and all the staff went above and beyond to make our day very happy. Thank you!
Unfortunately, this restaurant has declined since our previous visit a few years ago. The food seemed processed and the beers were flat. The chips were dry and tasted powdery. It's a disappointment because the food used to be delicious. We won't be returning.
My recent visit to the Albion in Arnside left much to be desired. After a lovely walk and deciding on eating at The Albion the highlight of my disappointment was the Sunday roast. The beef was disappointingly tough, below average quality making it a struggle to enjoy the meal. To make matters worse, the vegetables accompanying the dish were reminiscent of something quickly microwaved, lacking the freshness and flavor that one would expect. It's disheartening to see such a decline in food quality, and I hope the Albion can address these issues to provide a more satisfying dining experience. If you have ever visited Arnside you will know there are few places to eat, has this place taken advantage of the fact and realities quality doesn’t really matter. One thing I cannot understand especially when dining is having go to a bar away from your meal to order drinks, especially when there are staff stood in congregations behind the bar chatting. After ordering 7 pints I then had to return to my table multiple times carrying the drinks, zero offer to assist me with them, total lack of customer service. Fair to say I won’t be returning any time soon. A shame.
Have you ever thought you were invisible or maybe thought that you were on a video of the old single by Splodgenessabounds? (Look it up, it 's great. Popped in to the Albion for a drink recently and was pleased to find no-one waiting at the bar and also two barstaff stood there apparently ready to serve me. The two bartenders were having a little chat about shifts and days off etc, all very important I 'm sure, and I assumed I 'd be noticed in a moment. Then these two were joined by a third person, a manager type perhaps as he wasn 't wearing the uniform, and the conversation continued. (They were all stood about six feet from me by the way not twenty yards. Then two more staff arrived behind the bar having been laying out tables. Ah, now I 'm going to get served. No, these two started having their own conversation. Then a sixth staff member appeared ... this is it I thought, six is my lucky number. Nope, number six stood by the first group seemingly waiting to get in on the shifts debate. (Can I just add by the way, I 'm short at 5 feet 7 inches but taller than the bar counter. There is still only me stood on my side of the bar. Eventually the first barmaid turned towards me and said Are you OK? Priceless. Whilst my pint was pulled I was treated to the sight of one staff member apparently grabbing the crotch of another staff member. Entertaining at least...
The location of this pub is incredible. the service delivered along side the food was exquisite. i wholeheartedly would recommend the albion as a place to go not only for drinks but for food as well. I had one of their 2 for £10 cocktails and i was not let down by it. affordable but tasted expensive! would recommend.
