The staff couldn't do more to help and didn't need asking, when one of us had to go out for an important phone call that couldn't be put off. They kept the food warm and replenished the tea pot, returning with it as soon as we set foot back inside. Highly recommend for homely food and quick, friendly service.
A really warm welcome. Good honest food and sensible prices. The scones are incredible. Come here if you want to just enjoy a warm Cumbrian welcome.
Lovely home cooked food lots of daily specials on the board as well as the regular menu to choose from. Chips were the best we’ve had all holiday chunky, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and a good amount of side salad. Lots of traditional puddings on offer with custard or ice cream, and all at very reasonable prices for the quantity and quality on offer. Highly recommend a visit there, and just wish it was nearer to home for a regular treat.
Lovely cafe. Friendly personalised service. Good coffee, much more flavoursome than coffee served in chain coffee shops. Very reasonably priced.
Nice, friendly cafe. Had tea and scones. The scones were delicious. The cafe is situated across from the market and is worth looking for. Some of the food that was being served looked fantastic and the portions were very good.
