The ambiance was lovely and the staff was helpful in explaining the ingredients and future plans of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning soon.
Elsie serves delicious meals made from food that would otherwise go to waste. The menu changes daily, offering options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters. Whether you're looking for a three-course meal, a buffet, or just a quick cup of coffee and conversation, I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the Northampton area. You won't be disappointed. Not only is the food fantastic, but supporting them means more resources can be saved and more food can be rescued from going to waste.
We have visited Elsie a couple of times for lunch. The food is delicious and it's great that they operate on a donation basis. The café is staffed by volunteers who generously donate their time, and all the food is provided by local businesses. Elsie is a charity dedicated to reducing food waste.

I went to Elsie's for lunch on Thursday, got there about and they had sold out! They had been very very busy, the word is spreading. That will teach me to get there earlier. So this morning, Friday, I went for breakfast. Had a...croissant with my coffee as I waited, then sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans, toast, white pudding arrived. Well cooked, well presented, freshly cooked and hot. I had an extra coffee and then paid as you feel , for which they ask a minimum donation of If I lived in the area I would spend every Friday morning here!
