They also offered homemade quiche and sausage rolls with a tomato chutney. The scones were the best I have ever had, served with plenty of clotted cream and jam, all accompanied by Earl Grey tea. I have had many afternoon teas in the area, including at upscale venues, but Bells afternoon tea is my favorite and is excellent value for money.
Three different families, with children aged 2 to 6, met at this restaurant as it was a central location for all of us. We had a wonderful afternoon. The soft play area was just the right size, friendly, and kept the kids entertained. The cafe had quick service and delicious food for both adults and children. The children enjoyed looking at the fish and reptiles in the pet section. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful when we forgot to pay for the toys my kids had chosen at the end of the day. We had gone to the toilets before making our purchases and didn't realize the tills would be closed when we came out. Despite being closed, the cafe staff kindly allowed us to pay there and even went the extra mile to ensure the purchases were put through the correct till the next day. My son and daughter are both on the autism spectrum, and not being able to buy their chosen items would have been very distressing for them, especially for my son who had spent a long time choosing some succulents he was excited about. I am so grateful to the staff, especially the cafe manager. We will definitely be back, and we will make sure to make our purchases on time next time. Thank you!
We decided to meet a friend halfway at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The restaurant was located near a nice garden center and other shops, although we didn't have time to explore them due to the cold weather.
I do not understand the popularity of this place. The quality of products used is so poor. I vow not to eat here every time I go . But we meet with friends because it is convenient. Bacon roll this morning was so awful: undercooked bacon and roll saturated with very unpleasant margarine. I should have sent it back. Friends cheese scone wasn’t cooked as was equally unpleasant. Oh dear!
This is a large Garden type restaurant in a very large spacious comfortable environment, which happily announces it gets “Super Busy” . When shown to our table we were told the wait time for food, giving us opportunity to weigh up whether it suited our circumstances. You can either order at the counter , or via the venue’s website from your numbered table. Food arrived after 25 mins as we were advised. I would not recommend eating here on a limited lunch break. The drinks however did come in good time. Looking around at the custom that was there this weekday afternoon seemed suited to the service times, I would imagine because of its location it’s popular with friends and family meeting up at it’s convenient crossroad location. The food was good and the portion size was adequate for the smaller appetite. Staff were busy and focussed on delivering meals to tables and there was no real interaction with them as they seemed to be covering large parts of the restaurant.
