The person who greeted us at the bar was not very welcoming, and it felt like we were inconveniencing the mostly empty pub by arriving. The service improved once we were seated, with friendly but slow service. The food was just okay, nothing particularly remarkable. Overall, it didn't live up to our expectations and was not worth the trip from London.
We had a pleasant lunch for three people at The Bat and Ball in Cuddesdon. Two of us enjoyed the delicious Bat burgers. The pub was relatively quiet, which gave us the opportunity to admire the cricketing memorabilia. However, the sticky toffee pudding was not my personal favorite.
Food and service were both amazing. A really relaxed atmosphere in a gorgeous country pub. Would definitely return.
This restaurant is a hidden gem, but it's definitely worth having a designated driver!
