Caribbean Taste - South Portland

I ordered a small oxtail plate for takeout, and it was fantastic! The spices were perfectly balanced. I was able to get in and out quickly, and the food was hot and juicy. I really enjoyed my meal.

Wow! I was in Maine for a travel contract and had a craving for Jamaican food, so I searched online and ended up here. This place has the best curry goat I've ever tasted; it truly reminded me of my mom's Sunday cooking.

I found the food I ordered to be cold and filled with bone fragments. The rice was hours old and stale. I was hoping for more flavor, but everything tasted very bland. I usually like to give restaurants a second chance if my experience isn't great, but I really don't think I'll be returning. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars.

We got take-out there and it was horrible. The rice and chicken were cold and nothing about the meal was good. It was obviously just thrown together without any care. The place just looks like a hangout for their family and friends. There are never any customer cars parked in their parking lot. I honestly don't know how they stay open.

We cruise a lot in the Caribbean and this was a special night so we decided to try it out. The place is spartan, with bare bones decorations. But it seems to have been lifted from one of the islands and dropped on this location! Chicken and goat were very good, though chicken was more bones than meat. Hot is the adjective to use and they have some imported hot sauce if you wanted fire!!
