The Hawes Inn - South Queensferry

I had a wonderful dining experience at The Hawes Inn. The food was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful meal in a remarkable historic setting with breathtaking views.

The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is excellent, and the service is friendly. It's perfect for a small family birthday celebration. I’ve been coming to the Hawes Inn for many years, and I’ve never been disappointed.

I visited for a Sunday roast and found the restaurant very busy and quite noisy due to a local event. However, the service was excellent. We were a bit let down that they could only serve the beef well done, which was a new experience for us. Instead, we chose the lamb shank, and it was delightful, accompanied by a generous serving of vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding, though, wasn't particularly noteworthy. Overall, I’d return, but probably not on a Sunday.

Lovely roast; good value in nice surroundings. Only gripe was that service was efficient but lacked warmth and finesse. Staff could make you feel more welcome!

Would recommend if you’re in the area. Lovely setting near the bridges. Most of the food was very good but the burger and burger bun were heavily charred from the grill.
