Michael's Cafe - South Tyneside

I went to Michael's cafe yesterday and ordered a sausage sandwich and a bacon sandwich. I was shocked to see him place buttered buns in the microwave. Then he heated up the sausage in the chip pan and microwaved the bacon until it was pale and unappetizing. When my partner opened her sausage sandwich, we found that the bun was rock hard from being microwaved. I looked at my bacon and ended up throwing it away. This is not the proper way to cook - I will never be returning to this cafe.

I had a lunchtime meal at this restaurant on February 6, 2019 at 14:15. I ordered the day's special which included liver, three vegetables, chips, and a pot of coffee for a total of £4.80. The meal was served quickly and was exceptional. It was very filling and hot. The cafe has a very basic decor but the nice big windows allow plenty of light in and give you an opportunity to people watch while eating. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be dining here again as they have a decent sized menu and the prices are affordable.

The service at this restaurant was very disappointing. When we went for breakfast, nothing was ready and we had to remind the waiter three times what we had ordered. The toast was cold, there were no hash browns ready, and they forgot to bring the bacon and sausage. It took a shocking 40 minutes to get our food, which was an awful experience.

Been to michaels cafe again today with my friend maureen meals were great service excellent value for money lovely family cafe right in the heart of the market place we use to go michaels other cafes in south sheilds now he only has this one but service and food are second to none highly recomended pleased he is still there and a credit to south sheilds staff and michael well done

Michaels cafe is a bit of a market intetution , for good chat , and local atmosphere this is the place to go on market days . Good food at very reasonable prices , try the full breakfast or his bacon Sarnies
