Top notch honestly, nice place, great service all around, really good food with decent size portions for the price given. I would definitely recommend to people I know.
Went to the Sultan with the Mrs last night to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, so I pre ordered a bottle of prosecco to make it a little bit special. We arrived early, so we had a drink at the bar first IPA) while chatting with Musa and then went to our table after ½ hr or so. We ordered our starters, 4 x pickle tray with plain pappadums, as well as some chilli ones for me washed down with another ice cold IPA for me and red wine for the Mrs. We ordered their 'beast from the east ' for our main course another IPA/wine) and we weren 't disappointed, the plate was huge, with so much food, so much so that we couldn 't eat it all. The prosecco arrived in an ice bucket and it was amazing, we 've not had that brand before, but it was beautiful, we spent a few hours in the Sultan and to top off our night Arif took the cost of the prosecco off our bill... what a guy! The restaurant wasn 't too busy, but Arif Musa did a cracking job of making sure all diners were taken care of and food drinks were served on time. Thanks for helping to make our night memorable guys, see you again soon.
Really struggling to find a decent Indian takeaway in the Hebburn/Jarrow area, we thought we would give this a try. From the good reviews and photos it looked spot on. However, we were very disappointed with the portion sizes and quality. They use the usual “Chinese takeaway” plastic containers rather than the normal foil ones. This causes a lot of water separation in due to the condensation and leaves the water floating on top of the curry. The chicken Tikka masala was fine and the chicken nice, but our chicken Jalfrezi was very poor. There were about 4 bits of chicken in the whole curry and it was chewy and over cooked. Very, very dry. The “family sized” garlic naan for £5.50 was just a normal sized naan from other takeaways. There was zero garlic on it, that we could see it was just a plain naan. It’s a shame because the restaurant looked lovely inside. Maybe this was just a one off, but as it was our first visit, it has put us off from ever returning.
Every time we visit the food is amazing, cooked to perfection. Always great service. Would highly recommend.
