Not sure if excessive water was from natural causes or over-watering by turf staff, but conditions were poor. Greens OK, but needed a bit more care. This struck me as situation for all aspects of the course. Won't play here again. Felt this represented very poor value for the money charged. Would not recommend to a friend.
Before we headed home after a long weekend in Southampton, we decided to play one final round of golf, and we chose Chippewa. The course is pretty basic, but well laid out and an easy walk. There were a couple of really challenging holes, but most of the course is fairly straight forward. The greens were in good shape, but the fairways were in fair shape, likely due to a recent long dry spell. It's ok here, but if you're used to lush fairways and exacting greens, this course will miss the mark for you. Not bad for a quick round and walk, though.
We golfed here and were a little taken aback at the price. It was $66.00 pp for 18 holes but the course itself is pretty much uninteresting. Some very long par 4's on the front (one is 420 yards) and then the following one at 450 yards is a par 5 - not very consistent! Overall, wouldn't return
We golf here every summer. Always fun and moderately priced. Greens did seem nicer this year than in past years
