Now, that was our third visit to shanghai in 1814, in which was chosen for a special occasion or a birthday, which once coincided with the Chinese new year. eating and the choice is excellent, but the price is expensive when set menus between £50 £65 at least per person. drinks are average for restaurant prices, but special cocktails and more selective drinks cost more £9 £12). the 1814 mixed platter was delicious, but the aromatic duck as another starter arrived at the same time, so lost some heat while resting on the table. the main dishes from the Chrysanthemum Set menu were superb and tasty, although I ask that the black truffle roasted escape could have been hotter. I was told it was served warm. the service was excellent and polite, without being attentive, especially irish and a young male waiter). there was even a free) individual birthday cake. Of course, the main highlight of the evening was the visit of lion dance, which came to everyone table. the price of the meal was on the more expensive side with a service fee of 12.5% for a special meal or cocasion I would recommend shanghai 1814. our meal with several drinks for 5 people including service fee was £410.37 I will leave them to the reader of this review whether this is excessive or over expensive.
Several times quite disappointed this time eating was okay, but not exceptional as it is in the rule is quite much more expensive too!
Great restaurant and eating and service is very good, but some of the dishes are overpriced, as a next dish of pak choi is charged at £16 12% service fee. this is almost the same as a main dish for only a small part, which me from the return
Food was ok nothing wonderful but the service was rushed and intrusive.
