No disabled facilities at all. Food was very poor, not even any tongs supplied for chips. However the staff were very good. The place needs a total overhaul, although it may be listed building ,health and safety shouldn't effect this. Had to leave early due to lack of disabled facilities. Won't be back , accident waiting to happen at night, terrifyingly dark carparks.
I have tried the Sunday carvery at this restaurant multiple times now, unfortunately the establishment is a bit run down. The food quality would be much better if it was served hot. Typically, only the roast potatoes are hot on the plate, while the meat is cooked decently but is often lukewarm at best. Additionally, the dishes are served on cold plates, which is a noticeable mistake. The location is nice, but there is definitely room for improvement.
Went for afternoon tea and sandwiches. Waited over an hour for tea or coffee. The bar maid was not informed. Will not be returning.
I unexpectedly stumbled upon this pub after a great day at a dog show. My friends and I noticed the pub on the hill and decided to give it a try, even though we live nearby and had never seen it before. As we approached, we were impressed by the outdoor garden overlooking the hill with beautiful views. However, upon closer inspection, we noticed that the pub looked a bit run-down. The old-fashioned signage and cluttered tables with rubbish, crockery, and glasses didn't give off a good first impression. Inside, we thought we were hearing karaoke, but it turned out to be singers practicing their set. The sound system was impressive, but the vocals weren't great. We decided to order a drink, although I wasn't keen on the idea. We sat at some benches, and my friends went to the bar to order cokes and chips. They mentioned that the bar was sticky as they returned. We were given a buzzer that would flash when our food was ready, which was a modern touch that didn't quite match the rest of the pub's ambiance. When the chips arrived, they were overcooked, and we ended up leaving half of them uneaten. The singing act continued throughout our visit, making us want to leave sooner. Before leaving, I checked out the toilets, which were dark and old-fashioned, with fake flowers and scratched walls. The main bar area had plenty of tables and chairs, but the decor consisted of faded fake flowers and trellis panels. It doesn't seem likely that we'll return unless there are significant changes made. It's a shame because the location is perfect for dog walkers and fitness enthusiasts, with an outdoor fitness center nearby.
Gave this place a try today and won’t be returning. Waited 40 mins for our meal. It arrived and my sons burger was burnt. I had ordered what was described on the menu as thick cut ham egg and chips. I have added a picture to show the thick cut ham. Save your money.. plenty of lovely places to eat near buy where you’ll actually receive what you order.
