They were at the Acorn Piee and Maische twice. Both times were good with delicious food and very good service.
Wow! We enjoyed a great dinner in Acorn Pie Mash. I had the Chicken Mushroom cake, my Omni friend had the Steak Ale cake and we shared the Mac Cheese. All dishes were excellent of the Mac cheese beautiful, the cakes were deeply filled with beautiful pastries and from this world Gravy. Finished by a deliciously light and delicate apple cake. Beautiful relaxed mood in a beautiful building, friendly staff and great prices residents of Leigh on the sea, you are a happy bundle!
Had a good meal, service was excellent and the food was delicious! Dessert was beautiful too.
Who would expect to come to Southend on Sea and find about 6 totally vegan establishments? So many, in fact, that we didn 't have time to do them all! Acorn Pie Mash is one of them and it is a delight lovely pies, which appear to be made on the premises, and the obligatory mash with a side of garden peas. Ample choice of pie fillings, generous helpings and a choice of normal gravy or traditional liquor (a parsley sauce . Traditional P M, brought up to date in nice modern, spacious surroundings. Unfortunately, we were the only ones in at the time so the place wasn 't buzzing, but the staff were friendly, smiley and knowledgeable. They appear to be open during day and evening, so I suppose they can 't be expected to be busy all the time. They also have a good selection of local beers and ciders etc. Acorn is situated just outside Southend, in the little (ex? fishing hamlet of Leigh on Sea, well worth a visit in itself. A must visit for all passing vegans.
