The Old Ship Inn

The pub has earned a bit of a reputation for being a bit edgy, but as a regular for several years, I can say that, while some patrons might appear intimidating, the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It's conveniently situated in the center of town, with plenty of public transport options nearby. They offer an excellent selection of real ales and spirits, along with the classic Stella! At the back, there's a lovely beer garden that enjoys plenty of sunshine, complete with beautiful plants and some shelter. Inside, the pub is spacious with hearty meals and a large pool table. The staff are very friendly, too. This place holds a special spot in my heart since I met my fiancée here.

During weekends, the pub may not be the busiest or loudest in Southport, but it often has entertainment on select weeknights and on Fridays and Saturdays, adding to its lively vibe. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a few quiet pints, the Old Ship Inn is certainly a great option.

This pub has been revamped and is now called The New Ship. It's a fantastic local hangout!
