Hanazono Teppanyaki - Southport

We are from Tasmania and enjoyed Hanazono so much that this was our second visit! The service is very good, the delicious food is prepared with flair and fun. It's like dinner and a show all rolled into one.

It was really really up set me and friends. I can't understand why we need order all together first?The system is wrong, even food was sxxt. And pricey.They are kidding Japanese food. It was not Japanese at all. Japanese food must be delicious and very kindful service.We don't recommend at all. Disappointed.That is not teppanyaki, Just greasy stirfly something with soy sausage.

We dined here on Valentine's day with another couple. We sat at the teppanyaki bar and all decided to dine on the mother of all banquets, banquet E. Fillet mignon, chicken, moreton bay bug, prawns, scallopa and salmon. It also came with salad, miso, teppan vegies and fried rice. The food was amazing, well cooked and very very tasty. The service was ok, bit of a language barrier at times but we didn't mind. My disappointment was in the show. I have been to teppanyaki before that was 2 hours of pure entertainment by the Chef. Food has been flying and we have been busy catching it. It all adds to the enjoyment. It was a minor issue and it wouldn't stop me from coming back again. The food more than made up for it.

Our chef was amazing. Not only did he cook our meal perfectly (we couldn't find a single fault), but he was also charming, entertaining, and funny, making our evening even more enjoyable. As my husband has celiac disease and follows a strict gluten-free diet, the chef made sure to accommodate by using gluten-free soy sauce in our meal preparation and informing us that the sauces were not gluten-free. We give top marks to Hanazono Teppanyaki and will definitely be returning with our friends on a regular basis!

For first time teppanyaki goers this place was awesome. We checked out a couple of others but hanazono had the best reputation and certainly lived up to it. We will be back.
