The Fish Shak - Southport

First off, the grilled snapper in my Trawler meal was one of the best I've ever tasted. It was perfectly cooked, fresh, and moist—I can't wait to have it again the next time I'm down the coast! The salad was fresh and flavorful. The calamari was tender, well-battered, and nicely seasoned, while the prawn cutlets were standard but cooked just right. The chips were deliciously seasoned and perfectly crispy. My sister's grilled salmon was equally moist and cooked exactly as she requested. After our meal, we returned for a break during our walk in the park, enjoying some wonderful coffees and a scoop of ice cream that was creamy and not at all icy. I will definitely recommend this spot to any friends visiting the coast—it's just a short walk to the nearby Aqua Splash. I can’t wait to dine here again!

There’s nothing that compares to a great fish and chip shop with a water view, and that’s exactly what you get at The Fish Shak. The latest venture of Liz and Justin Allie, (also co-owners of Longboards Laidback Eatery), the former Café Rockpool has been transformed into an upmarket yet casual licensed ‘dine in or take away’ seafood restaurant.

I had the shrimp po' boy, and it was amazing! There was a generous amount of shrimp, topped with nearly an entire sliced avocado. I'm planning to return next week to try their fish and chips.

Everything was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was outstanding. A special shoutout goes to the calamari! I will definitely be returning.
