Sign on door noted under new management they have a lot of work to do to make this an average place. Cleanliness rated at a C . Another negative was the automatic 18% tip for parties of 4 or more. Won 't be heading back here.
It was fine. Food was decent. Service was decent. Ambience was LOUD. But it was Friday night, so ....
We have been fans of Kanpai for years. However, it has been awhile since we have visited. This was due to a variety of reason other than the pandemic. I was really excited to learn they were under new management and decided to give them a try. We went in on s Saturday afternoon with no reservation and were promptly seated. Our server, Matthew, was very friendly and attentive. Our cook, Rico, did his thing on the hibachi. He was entertaining without being obnoxious. Our food was well seasoned and flavorful. Our ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium. If you're in the mood for hibachi, give Kanpai a try. You will be pleasantly surprised!
The cook wearing red ruined our food when he put dollops of brown pasty stuff on it. It was mushy and tasted burnt. A few weeks back, we had a different cook. It was very good!
Haven't eaten here in a while and I had forgotten how delicious this place was! Tons of food!! It was really good quality steak, chicken and shrimp. Love the sauces that come with it also! The soup and salad is great too! We had superb service from a waitress named Courtney! We are so glad to hear they are no longer closing!
