Whilst on holiday visiting friends we tried a number of different coffee shops (as you do) in the Speyer area. When we found this place we came back every day confident in getting a better than good cup of coffee. Behind C&As, in the Kornmarkt it isn't obvious on the main walk to Speyer's Kaiserdom (another must see if you like medieval cathedrals) so you get that frisson of having 'found' an unlooked for gem.Sit inside or out, the service and coffee were of a consistently high standard - the nicest coffee I've had in Germany. As is not unusual, the owners speak excellent English and smiled tolerantly at our terrible mangling of German. Will go back if/when we visit Speyer again.
Very personal service. They roast their own coffee blends on site and sell them also. Talk to the friendly owner for a personalised coffee profile and recommendation. Almond based patisserie which is gluten-free. Ask at the counter.
Every time we travel in Europe, like all good Australians do, we hunt the best coffee in a city or city. we are on a bike tour down the Rhine and held in speyer for the night. as usual we have made our search for a good coffee. jumpers came very recommended so we decided to examine. we were not disappointed. the coffee was delicious with a large creamma. the milk was made exactly as it should be for any kind of coffee we ordered and at the right temperature (not warm as a part of the coffee we had previously traveled on our journey). the personal was very friendly and happy for the diverse possibilities, as we our coffee, the a deconstructed latte (I like my own espresso with my latte milk, a soy cappuccino and a normal milk cappuccino (they also do mandelmilch). we chose some flamentins from their sortiment and enjoyed them thoroughly. the caffe is just a road back from the main street that leads to the cathedrale, in a small shopping center. it is not too quiet and not too busy. a perfect place for a relaxing delicious coffee, meal or snack after some serious tourist: we will go back. thanks jumper.
