We are thrilled to find a great local restaurant that prepares food from scratch. The cook is very talented, the food is beautifully prepared and creative while it remains for traditional Italian. The place is still young and somewhat unprepared for the right service; hopefully the staff will be trained soon. Just be patient because food is worth hanging in service. And BYOB, until they get their fleet license that we hope will take a long time!
My husband and I celebrated on 6. March our 12-year anniversary at The Italian Joint. My husband made reservations that they were busy, but to our surprise we were the only table this evening. We were immediately greeted by Lauren, we were very attentive all night. Lauren gave us many recommendations that we chose for dinner and dessert. We were very happy with our visit and will come back very soon. It's great to have such a wonderful restaurant so close at home.
The service is slow and deorganized, the interior of the joint is very disappointing. Appetizer of filled mushrooms was free from taste and lukewarm. Pizza was reason for three stars, crust was good and came out hot. It seems the owner just doesn't get what people are looking for. There are aggressive notes on the wall for waiting staff, the joint and black sheep belong to the same individual and I have noticed similar ideas in the black sheep. The staff seems to be stressed almost as if they are expected to do a good job (or otherwise), but were not trained at all.
Pizza was good but served with paper plates. Considering that they are trying to present themselves as upscale restaurant, I would call that a no-no. The service was atrocious. We were forgotten often on Valentine 's Day and when the waiter came to fill our glasses with water, his attention was elsewhere and ended up spilling a lot on the table — without noticing and then walked away. The table bread was burned and the table next to us was served bread that was burned BLACK. Not sure why the couple actually started eating it. ??? My wife got spaghetti and meatballs, which was mostly meatballs and a little bit of spaghetti. I think she was hoping it would be the other way around. But she did say the sauce was okay. Don 't order the lemonade — it is heinous. Unless you like heavy honey drinks like mead. My daughter spit it out and said it was gross . Uneventful.
