Food cost at a competitive price point. All around very satisfying dinner and pleasantexperience. Definitely worth a revisit if back in the area at some time
Thee place to dine when in Springfield Illinois! We visit Springfield 3 times a year for our Elks State Convention and we eat at Chesapeake every time on Friday night Food and drinks are exceptional and the prices are extremely reasonable for thequantity and quality. Michele was our waitress this time I did it fantastic job taking care of the 14 of us! The ambience ofthe restaurant is phenomenal due to the fact that it?s well over 100 years in the making. A must stop when in SpringfieldIllinois!
Waiter was kind and patient, food was incredible, atmosphere was incredible. Highly recommend!!
As a single, older woman, I sometimes get treated less than stellar. But I have to say, the server (female) was fantastic, and even took the time to have a conversation with me. The food (shrimp DeJonge, NE clam chowder, green beans, salad, and bread were all delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming. I will definitely return to Chesapeake the next time I am in Springfield.
Beautiful, old style supper club atmosphere with fabulous seafood and service! From the cold, crispy lettuce, to the homestyle loaf of bread, to the butter warmed by a candle for the lobster, this place does not disappoint. I had lobster and crab-stuffed shrimp. The lobster was perfect. The shrimp were large and generously stuffed with the crab. Not to heavy on the breading and seasoning; maybe a tad heavy on the butter, but still delicious. Spouse had the orange roughy and loved it! This is quite a find in Springfield and worth visiting.
