For those who do not necessarily want to read the entirety of this review, the shortened version is as followed: the company is at this point refusing to refund me (when it was promised the WHOLE bill) for our meal after 4 5 weeks with several phone calls, we had to throw out our food and could not finish because it was so bad, and overall poor presentation/meal/customer service for a ?fine dining? establishment. Below this will be elaborated. My fiance and I decided to try Nji for takeout on April 24th after our favorite ramen shops were either closed or had a long wait. The online menu looked promising, and we ordered two bowls of ramen as well as a roll of sushi. Pickup was fine, but the disappointment for the meal started when we got home. First, how the food came. Our noodles, vegetables, and meat came in a 3 compartment styrofoam container, which was cold. I first thought we picked up someone else?s order, as this looked more like a stir fry than ramen. The broth came in a small plastic container, which meant that we HAD to pull out our own dishware to eat our food. For reference, EVERY other place we have ordered ramen, the food comes in a large plastic bowl to go container where you can mix everything together. Again, the food was cold and we had to warm it up. Second, the contents of the ramen. Our ramen came with corn, peas, and green beans the latter two I have never seen in ramen. My ramen, the spicy tan tan, came with ground pork. Attached is a picture (I wish I took more) there were maybe 3 4 pieces of this, maybe 1 oz of meat. Prices are increasing, but if an establishment is charging 13+ for ramen, more than 1 oz should be expected. The pork honestly tasted like hamburger helper and was so dry that, again, we had to throw it out. My fiance ordered the miso ramen Maruchan ramen has more flavor than Niji?s. My fiance had to add miso flavoring
Best tasting and best presentation of pineapple fried rice in town! ???? ???? Their ramen is delicious too, rivals Omo and Karai. They have alot of options and a nice bar, can't wait to go back and try something else!
We had a great experience at Niji Sushi Bar Grill, our waitress was so sweet also. Kaya went above and beyond our expectations as a waitress, very observant to our needs, very courteous and friendly. The food was amazingly good! Our appetizer (monkey ball) was excellent, hot melted in your mouth. The salad was fresh. The sushi was just right, the rice was soft, very fresh fish, the plating was nice, the flavors completely made it! We had the Spicey Tuna, Mango Tango and King Kong, I would recommend either of them! Then we had a Miso Ramen Bowl, it came out steaming, everything in it was cooked just right, right down to the center of the egg. Great place to eat! Great waitress, perfect experience! Thank you!
Extremely poor customer service, extremely under staffed! We were excited to try this new sushi restaurant but weren't prepared to wait almost an hour for our order that never came. Witnessed at least 2 other parties (4 people or more) seated just before us eat and leave before we decided to leave. We were a party of 2, received our drinks shortly after arriving while placing our order. 20 minutes later we asked about our salads and was told it was being prepared by the sushi chef. 15 minutes later we received our seaweed and octopus salad, something that was obviously prepared in advance and only required to be plated and served. During this entire wait, our server did not check on us or let us knew why the delay was so long. After watching the guests that were seated right before us leave, as well as watching tables seated after receive their food, we spoke to the manager who didn't seem to care that we had been waiting for about an hour for 2 sushi rolls. She cashed us out for our salads and drinks. I can speak from experience that when I was a manager of a restaurant, this would have been unacceptable. I would have done whatever necessary to make this right. They simply didn't care and we will be spending our money elsewhere.
Food was pretty good. There were a couple menu items that weren't spectacular but they weren't bad. The staff was friendly and did a good job, even though they seemed a little short staffed. The restaurant has a lot of colored LED lights and light strips that pulse and flash and its hard on the eyes. Strips of adhesive backed lights along the corners of the restaurant look cheap. We can usually forgive design choices in favor or good food but these lights gave some of our party members a headache. This might have also been compounded by the smell of the sanitizing solution the staff was wiping tables down with. It was overwhelming, seemed like it should have been diluted a little more. We'll try it again, the sushi was very tasty.
