Sarakh The Roadside Indian - St Albans

We went here to my wife's birthday on a Saturday at 18 o'clock booking. the food was very good, portions were small. the service was very eager. we had guests and we needed only 5 minutes to decide what we wanted to dinner, and the waiter/manager said he needed. to get orders. they clearly had a table that was booked directly after us, and even if the guy asked again: “Are they going now”. we all found them to be very rude and we ended up with order that we did not need. would be visiting personally. we prefer to go to the partner company “TAWA” in shefford. her service was much better than we went last time.

I'm here twice now and it was fantastic at both places. the staff is very friendly and eating is very good. would definitely recommend and return.

Tasty good food waiter was very helpful and recommended to anyone to try their delicious food! All Staff's very attentive to recommend their new dishes and location is good and plenty of parking space nearby!

First time visit to Sarakh’s we wanted to try a restaurant that we hadn’t been to before, for a birthday celebration. Having read the TA reviews, decided to try this place. We went on a Sunday, so the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. Decor was...fun, bright and certainly added to the ambience of the place. The staff were really friendly and the food was tasty Indian … with a twist. We were a party of 9 so got to try and share a number of dishes everything was really tasty (full compliments to the chef) and not oily. If you like lassis, then do try the ‘pistachio and rose’ one. It’s not the sickly sweet kind, but instead a light and refreshing taste sensation, and a perfect accompaniment to an Indian meal. Also, if you are up for something different as an appetiser to start your meal, instead of poppadoms, opt for the okra fries instead …. delicious, with the lovely assortment of dips that are placed on the table for you to devour! Our visit was for a birthday celebration and as a result our waiter, Kamal, suggested that the birthday girl just picks her type of food, and the chef would whip up something special. Prawns were selected and what subsequently was presented was a sizzle tray of 3 of the largest tiger prawns I have seen, in a delicious spicy sauce. My mouth waters as I think of it now! Then, to top off the evening, the staff brought out a surprise cake which was so unbelievably light and tasty. It was so thoughtful and made for a really memorable evening. Thank you to all at Sarakh Roadside Indian for making our birthday celebration feel truly special! We will definitely be back!

Food was so delicious, waiter was very attentive can’t recommend this place enough! Exciting decor too. Curries and naan really delicious, not oily, good beer selection ticked all the boxes !
