We waited for a long time, and eventually my dining companion had to go to the counter to place our order. Unfortunately, the staff displayed a lack of interest and enthusiasm, appearing fed up. The staff member who finally brought our lunch did not make eye contact with us. There was no senior member of staff overseeing operations, and the staff seemed bored. This is not the way to run a new business. The food was also disappointing. It is unfortunate that we could not find anything positive to say about this restaurant, as with proper management, it has the potential to succeed.
The restaurant has new management, new staff, and a new attitude. It is always crowded, but the food and coffee are excellent. This is my favorite cafe at St Ives Shopping Village.
The coffee is passable and the chocolate hazelnut slice was quite nice. Other than that I think it is your typical shopping center cafe.
I have visited this restaurant twice, once for tea and the other time for cake. The tea was overpriced considering it was just one cup (no pot). When we came for cake, it was a disappointing experience. I ordered a slice of cake for $7.50 instead of the $8.50 coffee cake deal. After ordering and sitting down, two different waiters came to our table within 2 minutes of each other asking if we wanted to order more. This happened a total of 5 times during our 45-minute visit. The constant harassment, even though the place was almost empty, left us annoyed and confused. We probably won't be returning due to this poor experience.
This is mainly about the service although the food was average also We were two couples all ordering at the same time with differing orders. My wife wanted vegetarian and chose that way but a considerable time after ordering she was told the dish could not be provided as they did not have any pumpkin which was one of the ingredients. There is an IGA in the near vicinity and down stairs a Woolworths and Harris farm and we thought it odd that they could not purchase pumpkin at one of these so that they could fulfill this menu item. My wife then chose another vegetarian meal (Risotto) it was delivered when us three had half finished our meal but the Risotto was served with Chicken throughout. We sent the dish back and concerned that the chicken would just be removed and the dish reissued contaminated with the juices from the Chicken, we asked if my wife could reorder a salad wrap. This is when the waitress asked my wife what she wanted on the salad wrap and my wife responded with a list of obvious salad items. A long time passed, us three had finished our meal and my wife was still waiting we chased up the order and was told it was just started to be prepared. We cancelled the order paid for what we did get and left never to return.
