Our server was a sweet very professional and pretty lady. Who made our drinks. The side street is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape with flowers everywhere and the smells from the kitchen fill the street.
Notna Trattoria!!! Italian restaurant best. In the historical district of St. Augustine Florida. We were looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner and decided to try Nonna’s. We were at 17:00 to make a reservation for 6:00 and happy that we did. You have food outside with heat lamps that reminds me of little Italy in NYC. The interior was cozy and welcoming and the decor was great. They give you garlic rolls with olive oil and spices that were very delicious. I ordered the Chicken Picatta with spaghetti and Marinara sauce, which was excellent. As an Italian from NY, I know good Italian food. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with Penne Alfredo and a Pinot and she said it was delicious. I highly recommend eating in this restaurant when visiting St Augustine for the day or on holiday. While we were there, a party of 6 came and sat across. We notice that one of the gentlemen seemed to be the owners. He rose up, went into the kitchen that is visible and began to cook for his party. We saw him when he cooked and he waved to ask us how everything is. When he finished, he came to our table to chat. I asked if he was from Palermo Italy, I said my family was from Cosenza Calabria, Italy and we spoke briefly in Italian. He asked how the food was and we told him excellent and I am an Italian from NY I know good Italian cuisine when I have it. The name of the owner is Adamo and his restaurant is definitely a place you should visit.
So happy to have stumbled over this fantastic restaurant! Beautiful walkway seats with a view of the road towards Plaza. Just one of the best restaurant experiences we had. Deliciously made to order home Italian dishes. You can have a small menu, but they have perfected what they serve. We had the bolognese and fattyuccini Alfredo and Calamari appetizer and it was the best Italian food I ever had. This place is worth waiting when you love authentic Italian cuisine!
I lived in the area for 12 years and discovered the culinary bliss of Nonnas Trattoria. The service from Brittany was excellent – so attentive, right up to the proposal for a wine pair. I will be back many times, and I intend to try everything on the menu. The limoncello cake alone is worth the trip. It's divine! The ambience of Nonna feels at the old world, as it is on an old brick road surrounded by historic buildings (which are not shops or bars) and is well away from the cheesy restaurants in the main tourist area.
Such a great experience Food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing, felt like home. Homemade tiramisu was delicious and the chicken Alfredo was great as well. Definitely will be coming back!
