It was good Italian. we were able to eat a reservation for 8 tonight a few hours before the arrival. the roasted garlic and oil for the broth is very good. the fried mozzarella was very good. the aubergine parmesan was in the top of the best I have said in the top 5. the huh cesar was very good and fresh. the tour through italien was 10 times better than olive garden. the homemade alfredo was good and you can have it homemade. the waitress was nice and friendly, but dropped to refill, maybe they were short workers.
I'm not happy at all. the portions were a sweat. 26$ for the Italian trio and 3 dollar charge for chicken parm. I have pumped half a chicken breast, see picture. 3 meal times $100. like her lying answer. yes, they offered back $3. not taking into account the aubergine parm that was not on the teller. my party were my two kids who had their nases in their phones, there was no trouble, we were quiet all the time until I made my complain at the end of the meal. we have treated their server with respect.
I don't post a lot. I just came home from St. augustine. most restaurants were bad for medium. si I have armoured most of them. but in all fairness I am happy to sing praise when deserved. I have lived many years in St. augustine and visited a family there, a few times a year. amici’s is not a beachfront fry house . it has a strange location on the upper a1a in a dollar general plaza at the rt. 307 crossing. easy to find, but they have a tricky entry. no big thing, but worth it. amici’s is where local people and savvy traveling eat when they want excellent Italian cuisine. so easy. everything is freshly made so ready to sit, relax, and enjoy great service and eat. I tried many of the menu selection. this trip my wife and I ate there twice. I love aubergines and her aubergine rollatini melts in your mouth. all their cheese filled dishes are great. they whistled the Ricotta cheese and he lightens it. try it home. my wife likes ravioli. amicis are homemade and perfect. the calamari is always fresh and the portions generous. in that all their parts are generous. if your hotel has a microwave and an icebox, they have luck. their meat, chicken and bark dishes are all prepared and are delicious. they offer a limited selection of seafood, but only very fresh seafood are available. pizza? yes! and amicis are world-class. st augustine has a few excellent restaurants. all are located in the city or beach. just like most ocean front tourist cities. btw are the prices very good.
My wife and I shared the 16 oz. ribeye steak tonight and both agree it's the best steak we've had in a long time. It was cooked perfectly with great potatoes and green beans. The house wines (chianti and cab) were both delicious and the service was wonderful. Plus, the tiramisu shooters 1 each) were great!
