They have daiya mozzarella style shreds available at the same price as regular cheese, and their gravy is excellent! The only downside is that you usually have to request that they clean the grill before preparing your meal, which can be a bit bothersome. Additionally, the prices are a bit high, but in my opinion, it's worth it for some indulgent vegan comfort food just a stone's throw away.
I tried this restaurant for the first time last week and inquired about vegan options. They recommended the quinoa burger and vegan poutine as vegan choices. The menu indicated vegan options with a "w", which was listed next to the burger. However, when I returned a week later, I discovered that the quinoa burger was not completely vegan, only the patty was (as the staff explained when I asked). It was disappointing to see false advertising, as many vegans, including myself, have tried and endorsed these quinoa burgers believing they were vegan when they are not.
One of my preferred spots to eat at is this restaurant. They offer a wide range of vegan options on their menu, such as falafel and hummus pitas, veggie burritos, salads, nachos, loaded chili fries, and my personal favorite, vegan poutine! Additionally, all of these items can be customized to fit your preferences. I have heard that they are planning on expanding their vegan menu even further in the near future. My usual go-to location is the one in Glendale due to better parking availability compared to the downtown location, although I have dined at both spots. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. It's refreshing to see a non-vegan restaurant chain that understands the needs of vegan customers and offers a variety of options beyond just veggie burgers.
They use the same grill and utensils for meat and veg items. Deep fried items (fries, falafel etc. seem to be cooked in the same oil as meat. I have even been served a chicken burrito after ordering the veggie one. The prep area doesn 't look very clean. Service is incredibly slow if there is even just one other person ahead of you in line. And for a place that sells 'cheap ' food to attract the college crowd, the prices are insane! $10 for a hummus pita (with no meat or cheese, which is the expensive stuff and small fries is not exactly cheap. You could go to a place like Vaughan 's or Merchant Ale House and get a huge serving that is completely veg-safe for only a few dollars more (not to mention better quality food . I will never eat here again after the chicken incident. All vegetarians and vegans should avoid u need a pita out of principle.
I ordered a chicken burger with fries and they gave me the worst chicken sand I've ever had. the chickenburger was all broken and the chicken was gray. also they forgot my fries. the people there don't speak English and it was as if they were drawing to understand them. just burst over everyone sucked and I will never go back and never more should someone else.
