Laura was our server and she was efficient and friendly. Suddenly, it started to rain heavily. Laura graciously offered to pack our leftovers and bring them to our car. She also brought our food and containers for our wine when the rain was at its worst. She suggested we sit under the covered section next to the building as the restaurant was not open for indoor dining. Despite the interruption, we made the best of the evening and enjoyed being by the water. Thank you, Laura, for your excellent service. The food was also delicious. We can't wait to visit again!
My husband, our friend, and I had a great dinner last night after spending the day sailing on our friend's sailboat. We received a warm welcome at the restaurant and our server was very friendly and attentive. I even took a photo of the delicious salad I had as an appetizer - a pear, blue cheese, and walnut salad. It was one of the best salads I have ever had! I was surprised that there weren't many customers at the restaurant, but I hope this review encourages more people to come and try the amazing food and service. Definitely eat here - it's fantastic!
I tried the fish and chips for the first time with my wife. A tip: if you want a window seat, book in advance. The fish and chips consist of two thick but narrow pieces with a nice dough batter and squid. The fries are freshly cut and tasty. Coleslaw is available for an extra $2.50. Please be aware that a 15% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will likely come back again.
After a week-long visit to Canadian friends from St. Catharines with friends from home, we had a big farewell dinner at the Sunset Dining Room at the Dalhousie Yacht Club. One of our friends is a yacht club member. The yacht club is located not far from the lighthouses Port Dalhousie Range in the Port Dalhousie municipality of St. Catharines. As expected, the decor was nautical. The ambience was cozy in Clubby-Weg. During the time before dinner, we saw sunset from inside in the dining room. Our group had selected two main representatives: steak and fish. I ordered Steak. Others at my table had ordered fish or steak. When our dinner arrived, I was disappointed with the steak. It was broken with a concrete onto the mediation. I had to cut half of it off to make it edible. I wasn't a bit impressed. The fish looked much better. Dessert didn't disappoint. It was covered with strawberries and whipped cream. It was absolutely delicious. I appreciate my overall dining experience at the Dalhousie Yacht Club by 3.0. But for the group as a whole, the rating was more like a 4.0. The Sunset Dining Room is open to the public on Friday nights for their Fish Fry dinner. Friday evening Fish and Chips could not be better anywhere. Generous portions good service and the best view. The key lime pie is the best. My favourite Friday night.
