Cafe Morrisons - St. Helens

We never receive the correct order at this restaurant. Even a simple dish like scampi chips and mushy peas always comes with garden peas instead. We emphasize our order when we place it and remind the staff again before paying, but still receive the wrong item. The counter is cluttered with dirty cups, making it difficult to find a clean one. The cutlery is always dirty and there are never any napkins available. Today, a young girl gave me two torn pieces of kitchen roll instead of a proper napkin, implying that she must pay for them out of her own wages.

Waited 40 minutes for two 'big ' breakfasts. On arrival it looked as if someone had swilled cooking oil over the plate and the white anemic bacon was literally swimming in 5 mm of the stuff. Every undercooked bar the plastic egg and dried out bullet beans. On refund I noticed that the meals were missing sausages. Should be closed down.

The ham, egg and chips were excellent. Even more excellent was the service because the waitress went to a lot of trouble to try to find my friends who I should have been meeting. She even telephoned a different branch in the town to find out if they were there, and she brought me another cup of tea whilst I was waiting.

Popped in for breakfast. Pleasant staff and good value but cheap sausage and bacon. Fried egg was cremated. Disappointing overall.

Love the breakfast at Morrison’s. It is just enough and a great way to start or end your weekly shop. It is reasonably priced and the coffee is good too. Friendly staff and brought hot to your table.
