Magic Chef - St. Helens

First time we’ve order here but very dissapointed with the chips as it was left over from maybe yesterday they prob. just dipped it back in the oil then walla good to go. disgusting! never again ordering from here!

Ordered from Magic Chef lots of times and have never had a bad meal. Staff are always lovely and friendly.

Ordered a vegetarian hot sour and when I got home I found it had strips of meat in it, I called the takeaway and the girl who took my order said she didnt know it had meat in it and apologised. I then went on to the main meal and found it had the wrong sauce with it, I called back and this time they were having none of it and rudely hung up on me...charming

We waited for an hour and a half for our food to be delivered, only to call and inquire about the delay. The woman on the phone mentioned that one of the drivers had a broken car, so they had to find a replacement. After waiting for nearly two hours, we decided to cancel our order. The lady we spoke to was rude and unhelpful. We used to order from this restaurant frequently, but after this experience, we will not be doing so anymore. Our order was over $20 as well.

Everything we ordered was absolutely terrible. I have tried many Chinese takeaways across St. Helens, and this was the worst by far. The Crispy Chilli Beef we ordered was not at all what we expected. It was mostly stale batter with hardly any beef, extremely bland, lacking flavor, watery, and just disgusting. The fried rice resembled boiled rice with dried, stale chunks of egg stuck to the container - clumpy, dry, lukewarm, clearly prepared in bulk and left sitting for hours. The deep-fried combination prawn toast was greasy, with dry sesame seeds, and bland. The spring roll was average, the ribs were average, and the chicken satay sticks were dry, stale, and cold - as if they had been made the day before and reheated. The salt and pepper combination box had everything covered in thick, stale, cold batter that was tough to eat. The ribs we bit into were raw, and the chips were soggy. Overall, the food was inedible and a waste of £24. Despite the 5-star ratings displayed inside the restaurant, none of them are deserved for the food. If you're looking for fresh, hot, and tasty food, it's best to avoid this establishment.
