In these days are a warm welcome, genuine friendly service and excellent eating a sacred trinity that they do not often see. not here. this is a really nice, cozy, relaxed place to enjoy a delicious lunch with a wonderful view of the fields. a retter if many other local restaurants do not open early in the week. I'm back!
The restaurant was very busy when we arrived on a beautiful day. They followed all COVID guidelines. We ordered sandwiches which had soft bread and generous fillings of coleslaw and crisps. The sandwiches were well presented. The staff were attentive and friendly. The prices were lower than many garden centers. We enjoyed the smell of lavender and will definitely be returning soon.
I ordered the ham salad, which was the most disappointing excuse for a salad. It consisted of a bag of mixed greens with only 4 small pieces of ham, a thick slice of bread with butter on top, no tomatoes in sight, and an abundance of radishes. It was not inexpensive, so I expected better quality.
Visited this lovely cafe today with my mum and daughter. The food was delicious however the customer service was very disappointing. Staff where cold and didn’t engage in conversation, and not very attentive to our needs. We where asked to remove our order from the...tray when bringing our food over, I enquired why we were asked to do this and was informed it was due to covid restrictions which I don’t understand as the staff have touched the plates in order to put them on the tray and when we left they picked up our plates, cups, cutlery etc to take to the kitchen so what is the point. In addition if covid restrictions are so high then why did they not anti-bac the chairs when customers left or clean the additional items on the table (table spoon number and menus). I agree we need to have additional measures in place to prevent the spread of covid however removing our own items which we have ordered from the staff members tray seems ridiculous and not essential. We where left for long periods of time in between ordering food, receiving food, requesting dessert and paying which I would understand if they where busy however it was quiet. We won’t be rushing to go back, there are too many great coffee shops to visit who make you feel valued and welcomed and have great food and coffee.
