The Griffin Inn - St. Helens

This restaurant has greatly improved since a renovation last year. The dining experience is of excellent quality and the dining room is beautiful. Although I found it to be a bit overpriced, I would definitely return in the future.

The staff at this restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent in both the restaurant and the pub. We had a delicious meal for two and a bottle of wine for only £29.99, which was great value for money.

Excellently presented tasty magnificent food that would not be out of place in a top London hotel, it really is that good. I've visited this restaurant a couple of times recently and have not been disappointed. From slow cooked lamb shank to really fresh fish there is a great selection of food on the menu. I can highly recommend the homemade lemon cheesecake if it is on the dessert menu on the day. Helpful polite friendly staff were on hand throughout this excellent dining experience.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience during our visit. It was my son's birthday. A couple of the staff members were very rude whilst trying to order food. After waiting a really long time for the food, items were missing and the food itself was dry. Burgers all dry and the pasta cheese sauce was like water. The toilets were in a really bad way too. So disappointed

Great place. We stayed for one night over the weekend. Fab outside spaces. Inside was lovely. The food was amazing. Staff are lovely. Special thanks to Hattie. Will definitely be back.
