I don't usually take the time to write reviews but feel compelled to in this situation because our experience at Mama's was amazing. Our party of seven arrived at 5pm on Saturday, 12/9 and the place was packed. We were a little concerned about timing because we had tickets to a 7pm show, but the service was super fast. It was amazing to see the waiters bring down huge platters of great food to the basement every couple minutes. Mama's is a well-oiled machine. My 75 year old father can't stop talking about how impressed he was with the service and food. The owners, waiters, and kitchen staff should be commended. Thanks.
When I got inside I was greeted with very nice waiters who were very polite and friendly. After 5 minutes went by were order right away, the waiter was very friendly and loved talking to my mother. Less than 10 minutes later we already had are 3 dishes of food! The food was the best made from really Italians and eaten by a really Italians. Then the waiter gave us FREE ICE CREAM! We got are check and we left. Nice waiters they were very polite, friendly, kind, and I will be coming again!!! GRAZIE aka thank you
I'll preface by saying I'm not a St Louis local. This was the best food that I had during my trip. I got the lobster ravioli, a side of spaghetti with a meatball, and toasted ravioli. The lobster ravioli was really good. The sauce was thick (my wife called it cheese soup) and good and the lobster was good. The spaghetti was SO GOOD. The toasted ravs were the best I had on my trip. You should definitely get some.
The food is always wonderful, and our service was quick and attentive. The only problem was that we had made a reservation for 6:00pm, showed up on time, and was asked to have a seat at the bar while we wait for a table to open up. We sat at the bar for almost 45 minutes and when I finally went up to ask the hostess how much longer we would be waiting, were we finally seated. I understood they were extremely busy, but if they weren’t going to honor reservations, they should have told me that when I called to make one.
