Mike Duffy's Pub And Grill - St Louis

Decided to meet a peer from work for lunch. It 's an older feeling grill and bar...from a look and feel, it 's a little dated. Really dark and could use some updating. But... The food was fantastic and the service, top notch! Decided on the BBQ chicken sandwich, added some Swiss cheese and the BBQ sauce (that had to be homemade) was really good! The place was hopping around noon, but it 's a pretty large place with plenty of tables and booths to get you seated quickly. The smile from the hostess, was a nice touch as well. Even though the place was packed, the server was quick and efficient (a seldom occurrence these days due to staffing shortages) and the food came out right on time! Great portion size, it is what I 'd call a simple meal, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and placed on a toasty bun. Not sure I would meet for a happy hour, the ambiance isn 't quite my jam, but a heck of lunch joint. Give it shot, I don 't think you will regret it! The 4stars I gave it is simply based upon the interior...the food is a 5 for lunch!

I've been here a few times within the past few months. The prices are average, there is an 18% gratuity on parties of 6 of more. They have some of the best Spinach artichoke dip I've had. It's thicker and not soupy. They pizza is good, the burgers are good and the ribs are good. The servers are nice as well as the busser/server assistant. It's a nice atmosphere but a casual place with plenty of TV's to watch your favorite game. It's not very big, but we've not had an issue getting a table. Sometimes the fries are good and sometimes they're just ok. The funnel cake fries were good but we did ask for more powdered sugar and they could definitely benefit from a fruit type dipping sauce. It's a great place to head over to after a movie in the same lot. They have a good variety on the menu.

Great service from Michael today. Wonderful addition to the Duffy's team. So he gets Five Stars. But 3 Stars for the food today. The chili is excellent. But I like panko coated onion rings rather than the beer batter rings Duffy serves so a little disappointing. Also the wings were a little scrawny for the price. Would like to see that changed. Won't keep me from coming back though. Will just try something different next time. Speaking of coming back, please bring back your Spinach Artichoke dip. It was the bomb!

Every aspect of the visit was great. Burger was cooked just perfectly medium! (Where else does that happen). The iced tea was fresh and brisk (good fuel). Katie was our server and is always a joy. My husband had a Mushroom/Swiss burger and (perfect) onion rings. We were both very pleased. We don't get here often enough. Everyone who works there is easygoing and accommodating. I appreciate their flexibility on things I order; I can trust them concerning my food allergies. That is important to me. Go check them out!

The website lists their Wednesday fried chicken special for $12.95. I was charged $14.95. I brought this to their attention some time ago and the website has not been corrected.
