I waited 90 minutes to take a ten minute ride to my hotel. I arrived outside the airport in Saint Louis at 11:40. I arrived in my room at 1 a.m I told him you hung up on me and I don't appreciate that. He said all I need from you is your credit card. I said an apology would be nice. Silence and a stare is what I got. I said , I guess that apology isn't coming. I am a respectful, caring person. I had just returned to Saint Louis after a three week deployment with the Red Cross in Maui. I worked 15 hour days as a volunteer assisting the survivors of the wildfires. I was tired and just needed to be treated with respect.I didn't receive that
They do not clean their sheets. The workers are rude. I found a blood stain and I am assuming make up stains on my comforter. Very gross. Our shower doesn't work well either. No lock on the bathroom door.
Now that my Hampton Inn near STL has become a non-Hilton hotel, my choices are far less comforting. A Hilton or a Doubletree with low ratings or this one that had okay ratings. I opted for this once since I needed to rent a car for this project. The pros are that it is indeed close to the airport. There is in all likelihood a shuttle, but I've found the earlier your flight, the riskier it is to get there on time if you rely on courtesy services. The Digital key works flawlessly and I didn't have to interact with anyone during my stay except for to ask a single question which I'll elaborate on in my cons. Parking is free and plentiful. Just remember that access to the single elevator and rooms is to the left of check-in or you'll just be wandering past conference rooms. Now for the cons. Hilton is apparently getting rid of their business center amenity which I normally wouldn't mind but this particular trip it would have been REALLY nice to have access to a printer so I could print out FedEx labels to ship stuff I had in the car. Their business center has a temporary computer labeled as such with no printer and the front desk will explain the above to you if you're too dumbfounded like I was to piece it together by yourself. I had to rent a computer and printer from FedEx instead which wasn't tremendously expensive but would have been hella convenient and made up for some of downfalls of this stay. Speaking of which, I felt like I would have been better off sleeping at the airport behind the ticket counter because I didn't really get much sleep. The bed was lumpy and hard to sleep on. An alarm went off in the dark of morning jarring me awake for the rest of the night. Then some selfish, inconsiderate f**k took the do not disturb tag off my door for themselves and had the housekeeper calling and pounding on my door during my cold shower. When are they going to make that an option to check off in the app so they know not to bother you? It worked out well that they had no hot water because I needed cold water to wake me from my stupor of staying the night at this hellhole. I'm actually scared now to try the Hilton or the DT. I may have to switch loyalties to overnight in STL.
Our flight got cancelled at St. Louis airport and I booked the room from my Hilton app on my phone. Called the hotel for the airport shuttle and it was prompt in picking us up and upon arrival the front desk staff was great. Hotel is very clean and enjoyed drinks and dinner in their lounge area. I needed a late check out and was told no problem. Would definitely stay here again should the need arise.
We got in late and left at 3:30 so we didn't get to experience everything this hotel has to offer. We did sleep well in a spacious well-maintained room. And we love their airport shuttle service. We plan to come back and hopefully spend more time here.
