First Watch - St Petersburg

Usually this place is on the spot, but they have failed today! I ordered online and it told me 30 minutes. Ends up to 45 minutes (I had food waiting in the car I took on someone else and it was going to sit cold from inside for so long! Not even a full cup. The order was simple. Eggs, Chia pudding and muffin. That's it. Should be 45 minutes with half a full restaurant and then don't give me a full cup, as I paid.

This was our first visit, and we chose it to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The breakfast was complimentary, which is a fantastic way to attract new customers. The portion sizes were generous, and the food tasted great. The service was quick, although the food did take a bit longer to arrive. I ordered a special dish with sweet potatoes, Italian sausage, and bacon, and it was excellent! We also tried the pumpkin pancakes, which were delicious. The only downside was the atmosphere of the restaurant; it felt a bit generic and impersonal.

My meal was a bit of a letdown. I ordered a watermelon drink that was supposed to have mint, but it didn’t have any. The toast was cold, and the butter wouldn’t melt. The fruit was all unripe. However, the service was good, and I appreciated the staff addressing my concerns. On a positive note, the drink was taken off my bill, and I received a 20% discount. Overall, I recognized that the staff genuinely cared about my experience.

First Watch serves a variety of delicious and unique vegan dishes that are also nutritious. You definitely have to try their take on Million Dollar Bacon—it's simply amazing! However, be prepared for slow service during peak times. If you plan to visit on the weekend, it's a good idea to call ahead, as you might have to wait a while. They have communal seating available on a first-come, first-served basis, which gives you the chance to meet some interesting and friendly people.

This place is great. Make sure to call ahead though, as they are always busy. 4 stars because we ordered 2 **** Mary's at the same time, one came out about 6 min later while my husband waited another 10 minutes for his. Besides that, food is excellent!
