The Apothecary Restaurant - Stafford

I have both bought in store and shopped off of their website and have been thoroughly satisfied on both occasions.

We went for afternoon tea on Christmas Eve and were very disappointed. The meal consisted of processed ham, processed cheese slices, puree, and egg mayonnaise. We were only offered a selection of frozen cakes, and had to ask for tea, which was not offered. The tea selection was also lacking. The atmosphere was not pleasant, with open crackers on the window bar and a pipe with a large hole in the curtain from previous guests. The carpet under our table was covered in debris from a previous party. We paid £15 per person for a meal that we could have bought for £3 from a supermarket. We have been meeting this family for seven years but will not be returning after this experience. The staff was unfriendly and the excuses from management were unacceptable. I will be reaching out personally via email to express my dissatisfaction. This was a major disappointment and we will not be recommending this restaurant.

Great value for the Christmas meal. The soup was lacking flavor, but overall a very enjoyable meal for the price.

The food at this restaurant was fantastic, and the service was excellent. However, the temperature in the restaurant was very cold. The disabled toilet was dirty, as it was during my previous visit the week before. One of my friends even mentioned it to an employee. It was disappointing to see that the area is also used as a diaper changing room for babies. I hope that it is not a common occurrence, as it is very unhygienic.

We came to find that our table was not ready (under the thought that there were many empty tables! When we finally sat down, we had to wait for about 10-15 minutes for our menus! As a peskatarian there was no great choice. The food I chose was nothing special and was quite sick, I couldn't eat it. My partner chose a burger but couldn't stop him because he was so unpleasant to eat. The cost was low and the service was bad, we booked according to the great reviews online but would not eat here again I would recommend it to everyone else. A disappointing night
