Have had some great meals here carvery is high on my list 10/10. but the standards seem to be slipping .value for money is one of my grumps and service the other i had a quiche that was rather cremated on the bottom once no probs sorted instore.second time ordered a bacon and brie burger that i had to waight one hour for told it would be a while but when it came not only was it luke warm but it had no bacon and no brie (just a burger then was told by member of staff that i would have to waight for another to be cooked .i declined this offer and had a refund instead becouse every one else in our group had eaten.never mind these things happen i thaught but upon my visit on saturday i thaught i would try the fish and chip special .i asked if i could have a small salad garnish instead of mushy or garden peas only to be told no this is how it comes how hard is it to put a few green leaves a cherry tomato and a couple of slices of onion on instead . food came but fish was rather greasy and slimey inside but as i could see it was the same girl behind the counter i had issues with over my berger i couldnt be bothered to complain. come on please guys get your act together you used to be so good .wont be back unless i am having a carvery sorry
Well we’ve only been here once before and that was just before christmas and had no issues. Today however was a different story. Two light bites, two kids meals and two coffees, £40 which I think is pretty steep but we wanted a nice atmosphere and somewhere for the kids to play. We seated ourselves near the softplay. The table was filthy. We had to spend 5 minutes with baby wipes trying to get the grime off the table. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all morning. We then sat for an hour waiting for our food. The kids were starting to play up so we just decided to leave. I don’t know if they forgot about us as there were a few other families that came after us that had their food. We were given a full refund which I would expect to be honest. Unfortunately we wont be returning.
This is a great place to meet with friends. I have had tge carvery before which was good. But usually meet for coffee cake.
I love visiting garden centres this time of year full of festive delights. My sister and I decided we would visit to see what new items could be purchased for Xmas, deciding to have lunch first. I opted for the Chicken Tikka sandwich with mint mayonnaise and my sister had prawns. Both came with a handful of chips (probably 6) and coleslaw. The bread on both was very dry but as there was lots of sauce with the prawns my sister managed her sandwiches just leaving the crusts. However, even with a magnifying glass you would struggle to see the mayo on mine so I ate the chicken pieces with chips leaving the rest. It was extremely busy I think we had the last table so it may be that not as much care went into the food, I don’t know. I think I’ve only had snacks before like teacakes. It cost us £25 for our two meals and a drink each and definitely don’t think it was worth that !!! Not sure whether I’d hurry back and certainly not during busy times.
