Price hike since last year and dismal variety and quality. The food served on 1 small station instead of spread out on several as in previous years. Barely any choice now. No obvious starters anymore, soup with no rolls/bread of any description. No cold meats/cheese/jacket potatoes/pasta of any sort/pizza or chinese section as in previous years. The only fish was a small frozen battered cod or dry hard frozen calamari ring. Sparce salad section. No beef except a dried up steak and ale pie or chilli. Vegetables consisted of cheap frozen mixed bag variety in one pot or corn piece. No cauliflower cheese as in previous years. Mash potato was grey. Only one curry- vegetable tika. Roast reduced to 2 cheap joints of gammon or chicken roll. Childrens section reduced also to sausages/chips/beans/chicken goujorns or qorn nuggets. Puddings equally disappointing, tasteless defrosted dry slices of cake/cheesecake pre-served on plates or a whippy icecream. No cream served anymore. Never had such an appalling buffet with a hefty price tag at £27.75 per adult. Really gone downhill.
So we ate at Flambos due to staying in the hotel … we ate dinner and also breakfast. (Breakfast included with our stay) Positives Variety of food was brilliant for both adult and children both morning and night. staff were very attentive and on the ball. Negatives the price!!! For two adults and a 2 year old is was £60.90. £60! The two year old cost £4.80 which I have absolutely no gripes at but. But for adults, I feel £20 would be more appropriate. (Dinner only) some food was piping hot, some was stone cold.
We stopped at Flambos restaurant for lunch after visiting splash landings water park. Service was very slow. Took 25 minutes queuing at the bar to place my order and then another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Pizza and chips were awful, very bland and very poor quality for the price. More like school dinners, not restaurant quality. You'd be better off driving ten minutes up the road to The Star Pub for a decent meal.
Review for Alton Towers and Flambo Restaurant Alton Towers Special Mention to Stacey from Guest Services Yesterday at Alton Towers, we encountered a medical emergency when my prosthetic leg malfunctioned during one of the rides. Panic could have quickly set in, but Stacey from Guest Services, identifiable by her long blonde hair and glasses, stepped in with utmost professionalism. Not only did she provide an emergency mobility scooter but also escorted us back to our car and ensured our safety. Her calm demeanor and kindness shone through the chaos. It's rare to find such exemplary service, and Stacey deserves special recognition for her actions. The next morning, after having sorted out an emergency replacement for my leg, we dined at flambo Restaurant. Once again, we were met with excellent service. Despite it being a busy and frantic morning, the breakfast was delectable and arguably one of the best we've ever had. While our experience at the restaurant was remarkable, it would not have been possible without Stacey's assistance the night before. Her support ensured we were in the right spirits to enjoy our morning. Stacey's dedication, kindness, and friendliness were commendable, and she certainly deserves any recommendations or promotions that come her way. Thank you, Stacey, for being our beacon of light in a challenging situation. Your assistance was invaluable, and we are forever grateful. I hope this review conveys your sentiments accurately. If there are any changes you'd like me to make, please let me know.
