Cliff House - Stamford

This restaurant was terrible! The tables were dirty and we had to ask multiple times for them to be cleaned. The waitress finally came and cleared our table, but seemed rushed and the food and service were both subpar. I will never eat here again and I would not recommend it to anyone. Save yourself the trouble!

While traveling, we decided to stop for lunch at this restaurant. The menu caught our attention, but unfortunately the service was slow and it took a while to get our order. This gave us the opportunity to notice how dirty the table cloths were. The tables had a glass cover over the table cloth, presumably to make cleaning between guests easier and create a cozy atmosphere. However, it seemed that the table cloths hadn't been washed in quite some time - possibly a year. The dessert, listed as congealed salad, turned out to be jello that appeared to have been rinsed to freshen it up. Overall, it was a disgusting and filthy dining experience. I would not recommend eating here.

We were passing through on a road trip from Nebraska to California and decided to stop for a bite to eat. We noticed that this restaurant had the most cars in town, so we decided to give it a try. While the place wasn't fancy, it offered good home-cooked food. My husband and I each chose something from the specials menu - I had meatloaf and he had chicken fried steak. The meals came with a side salad, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, chocolate cake, sweet rolls, and cornbread. Our server was friendly and quick. The food was so filling that I might need a nap before we continue driving. Overall, it was a great taste of Texas home cooking and I would definitely eat here again. My husband remarked that he was full, and we both agreed that the bathroom could use more light as there was only one bulb in the fixture.

This restaurant was terrible. The tables were stacked with dirty dishes, and we had to wait for a waiter to clean off a table for us. The floor was slippery and the food and service were both awful. We will never eat here again or recommend it to anyone.

I came for a Buie-Burger, but was informed that they were not serving it today. What a disappointment! The salad was warm and there was barely enough on the plate to be considered a side salad. I was very disappointed and will not return.
